Savana Safety 2023

Safety

We designed Savana Passenger with the protection of your passengers in mind. Features like air bags1, factory-installed StabiliTrak® give you the security you expect from GMC.

FRONTAL DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS1

All Savana models feature driver and front-passenger air bags1. The Passenger Sensing System can deactivate the outboard front-passenger air bag if the occupant is lighter than a specific weight.

ENHANCED-TECHNOLOGY GLASS

  • 3-layer glass improves safety of passengers
  • Standard on heavy duty models
  • Only in rearmost windows on 12- and 15-seat models

REINFORCED STEEL SAFETY CAGE DESIGN

The high-strength steel frame is connected to the main body structure with reinforced body sills, roof pillars and a reinforced floor. This design creates a safety cage that surrounds passengers, helping maintain passenger compartment integrity in the event of a collision.

HEAD CURTAIN SIDE AIR BAGS

Standard for the first-, second-, and third-row outboard passengers, these air bags unfurl from the roof rail like a protective curtain for outboard passengers, activated by either rollover sensors or side-impact sensors.

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM

This system uses tiny sensors inside the wheel to “broadcast” tire pressure to your vehicle, alerting you to their status and inflation level.

EATON® AUTOMATIC LOCKING REAR DIFFERENTIAL

This available feature can sense a difference in wheel speed between the left and right rear wheels and lock them to turn in unison for added traction.

1. Always use seat belts and the correct child restraint for your child’s age and size, even with airbags. Even in vehicles equipped with the Passenger Sensing System, children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate infant, child or booster seat. Never place a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat of any vehicle equipped with an active frontal airbag. See your vehicle Owner’s Manual and the child safety seat instructions for more safety information.

Safety features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Read the Owner’s Manual for more important safety information.

Production model may vary

Due to global Semi-Conductor supply shortages, GM vehicles may not have some standard features and options. Please check with your local GMC dealer to confirm the vehicle’s specifications prior to purchase. Vehicles not equipped with Automatic Stop/Start will be less fuel efficient.
